New Edition of Acoustic Manual with extended range of measurements

Since the introduction of the Rockwool Marine & Offshore Acoustic Manual, we have received many positive reactions from customers, who find the manual of great assistance to their daily work. The Rockwool Marine & Offshore Acoustic Manual offers insight into the complex and increasingly important matter of sound. We are therefore pleased to introduce the new and third edition of the Acoustic Manual which now contains an extended range of sound measurements and documentation within the areas of:

  • Sound absorption
  • Sound reduction
  • Dynamic stiffness
  •

    Sound absorption

In the extended range of sound absorption measurements we have included new measurements for Rockwool Marine Acoustic Foil, a 19 my foil which has the special properties of combining the quality of absorbing oil moist without destroying the excellent sound absorption properties. The foil in combination with a perforated steel plate has been tested for low flame spread foil and is now being marine certified as a system.

    Dynamic stiffness

In the Acoustic Manual we have updated the information and measurements of dynamic stiffness of the Rockwool Marine Slab 140, the most common used product for floating floors.

    Sound reduction

We have now included a range of additional sound reduction measurements for alternative constructions mainly fire rated. The extended range now includes, amongst other things, measurements of solutions combining fire and thermal insulation, aluminium A-constructions, corrugated steel constructions as well as our range of new H constructions.

We hope that the new edition of the Acoustic Manual will be of value to you.
